Gallery Woong based in Seoul, a contemporary art gallery, has constantly discovered and supported emerging and established contemporary artists from Korean and also other countries. The gallery aims to communicate with audiences through experimentally curated shows of new contemporary artists. Gallery Woong founded in 1987 in Sinsa-dong has focused on producing contemporary discourse of present art scenes and also the gallery has worked to introduce its space to audiences to overview and understand contemporary art intensively. In 2000, Gallery Woong moved its location to Nonhyun-dong and in 2019 to Hongji-dong (299 JAHAMUN-RO) has kept its mission that the gallery keeps communicating among collectors and artists by diverse projects.

웅갤러리는 국내외 작가들을 발굴하고 지원하는 현대미술 전문 갤러리로서 광범위하고 실험적인 기획전시를 통해 전문 컬렉터및 대중이 미술과 소통할 수 있는 장을 만들어 가고 있습니다. 1987년 신사동에서의 개관을 시작하여 현대미술을 심도 깊게 조망해 볼 수 있는 기획전시 공간의 역할을 해왔으며 2000년 논현동으로 이전하여 미술뿐 아니라 공예 부분까지 그 범위를 넓히면서 작가 고유의 세계를 보여주는 작품들을 미술시장에 소개해왔습니다. 현대미술의 각계층별 다양한 담론을 수렴하는 전시들을 보여 주고자 노력하는 웅갤러리는 2019년 종로구 홍지동으로 이전하였으며 국내외의 현대미술 작가들을 지속적으로 발굴하고 다양한 작가지원과 교류를 바탕으로 관객들과 꾸준히 소통할 수 있는 공간으로서의 역할을 감당하고 있습니다.
